Protecting the conscience in our hearts, creating a new world of love and peace

Our world is constantly stricken by acts of God and man-made calamities. Extreme climate patterns as depicted in the film The Day After Tomorrow are no longer uncommon. Geopolitical risks were on the rise due to territorial disputes. Many civilian protests against government malfunctioning turned into bloody chaos. The threat of nuclear weapon has never gone away. The state of the world is more perilous than the eve of the Second World War. How do we do in the face of such a turbulent state of a disorderly world? Starting from January 1, 2014, Federation of World Peace and Love, UN/NGO Association of World Citizens, and Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy have collectively promoted the movement of creating An Era of Conscience. It is expected to inspire positive energies to stabilize the disorderly world, to awaken the inner callings in our hearts for kindness and conscience, and to construct a world of harmony and stability. In one and half month, more than 10,000 participants from 200 organizations in 105 countries have jointly promoted the movement, including congratulatory notes from more than 30 heads of states and UN ambassadors such as president of India, president of Switzerland, president of Germany, Queen of England and prime minister of England, prime minister of Australia and prime minister of Singapore, and more. Domestic political leaders such as chairman of People First Party and mayor of New Taipei City also sent in their calligraphy to wish for great success of the launch.

Launch of An Era of Conscience, connecting the world with love

At 2:00 pm sharp on February 16 in Taipei, the grand initial ceremony is to be held. The ceremony is to be joined from 12 locations in Taiwan, 2 cities in Los Angeles and San Jose, and 10 more cities remotely around the world, together with thousands of participants from around the world. In the opening remark, Zhang-men-ren of Tai Ji Men, Dr. Hong Tao-Tze, expressed that “Conscience is the key of our heart, inspiring good thoughts and good actions. Let’s connect the positive influences among individuals, families, societies and nations to find back the inner peace in our hearts and the respect for humanity, and to encompass the earth with the energy of conscience. To stabilize the turbulent state of the disorderly world, we have to start from protecting the conscience in our hearts. Your participation in this event will set good examples for others to follow and exert positive feedbacks in your respective professions and nations.”

Participants in the ceremony include diplomatic envoys from Jordan, Japan, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Mozambique, Philippine, South Korea, Swaziland and Guatemala  and high ranking government officers and elite leaders such as Li Hong-Yuan, minister of interior, Lu Show-Lien, former vice president of Taiwan, Lin Chung-Shen, chairman of the Cross-Strait Exchange Foundation, Wu Ah-Ming, chairman of Liberty Times, Chen Kao-Shiang, chairman of CNA News, Su Yu-Chen, president of Chinese Association of Human Rights, Lin Sheng-Fen, chairman of the Central TV, Li Yu-Ning, famous director, Ko Wen-Zhe, Director of Center of Traumatic Medical Attention, Li Chi-Mao, chairman of Chinese Painting School, and SiMa Chung-Yuan, a famous writer. Participants share their words of conscience and light up the lamp of conscience smile. The lamp gets brighter as more energies are connected. In the meantime, more and more smiles are popping up on the TV screens on the wall, symbolizing connections and feedbacks from around the world. All participants put their left palm on the right fist and hold them together in front of the chest, the hand gesture of conscience, meaning protecting the conscience in our hearts and creating a new world of love and peace. Against the wall on the TV screens are playing the words of conscience recorded from interviews with people from different cities of the world. The energies from all over the places are connected by the LED lights. Our hearts are glued together in the song of “An Era of Conscience”. Many people with conscience are inspired to participate in the great project of restoring ethics and respects for human rights and constructing love and peace. The sharing of words of conscience, stories and practical actions will be posted on the designated website at www.aneoc.org.

New Year Gathering to warm people’s hearts with ancient cultural experiences

Stepping into the site of the launch, you will immediately be overwhelmed by the warmth and friendliness of people. One of the organizers, Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy, also holds the 2014 Chinese New Year Gathering to conduct cultural exchanges to inspire the aspirations for truthfulness, kindness and beauty. Guests walking from the sidewalk to the reception hall will be greeted by joyful children, Tai Ji Men brothers and sisters holding lantern balls and many other traditional Chinese figures with the 5 treasures of health, wealth, wisdom, happiness and blessings. People playing Chinese Gods are also present to spread blessings. Fortune comes to those who help themselves.

“Martial arts family” is the name of the cultural performance opera, in which music, singing, dancing and opera are performed to depict the stories and emotions of people ranging from ancient story-tellers, Bao Gong and 7 knights and 5 heroes, to Tang Sanzang and 3 dizi. Many famous songs are to be performed in the opera. It is designed to bring full happiness and positive energies to participants through the stories of ethics and moralities.

The “Hall of Celestial Horse” is decorated with child plays in the 50s. You can make your own fortune pockets and take them away with you with unlimited joy and fortunes. The antiquated grocery store gives you a taste of the good old times. Foreign visitors get the chance to sip the kongfu tea and play with the craft-straw plaited articles.

Cultural feast spreading joy, happiness and blessings

The highlight of the day is the Tai Ji Men Cultural Performances, which starts with the Tai Ji Men Orchestra of Love and Peace. Dr. Hong, in his opening remarks, says “Culture is the collective recording of a people’s history. It also lies at the core of a nation’s destiny. Kind hearts and good intentions are the positive energies safeguarding sustainable development of the world. It is expected that the artistic performance of qigong and martial arts will inspire the conscience and good deeds that we are all endowed with.”

The treasures of Chinese cultures and the wisdom of yin-yang philosophy have been preserved in Tai Ji Men through the cultural form of a shifu and dizi. As times goes by, ancient culture has met with modern civilization and adapted itself with a flavor of new vitality. In the martial art performance, the unpredictable box fighting techniques is combined with LED double sticks to demonstrate modern creativity and vitality. In the civil dancing performance, 5 beautiful females from ancient Chinese history demonstrate the feminine beauty and wisdom with the watery sleeve dance. The performance also encourages people to keep a heart of kindness and courage to do what is right. The youth grown up in Tai Ji Men combine qigong, martial arts and hip-pop street dance in 6 songs of Michael Jackson to encourage people live lives to the fullest.

The real cosplay performance and traditional puppet show combined to demonstrate the chaos of the world. We need an army of justice to dispel the darkness and get things right. Only when the powers of justice in different corners are linked will we be able to walk towards a safer and brighter tomorrow. The youth in Tai Ji Men lead the participants to dance on the stage and form the whirl of energy of love. Everyone is bathed in the happiness of love. It is such a wonderful way to start a new year.

At the end of the cultural exchange is a video recorded by one of the co-organizers of today’s function, Nina Goncharova, Siberian Center for Euro Asian Projects. She performed a song named “Angel of Love”, made by her, to greet the participants. We are all angels of love. We get together because of the love and blessing of God and to work for the better of the world. Culture holds the key to a nation’s destiny. A heart of kindness and conscience is the fundamental of our existence in the world and the foundation of a wealthy nation and affluent people. It is expected that fine cultures will inspire our aspirations for truthfulness, kindness and beauty to take actions in the pursuit of an era of conscience.
