Cupertino City Mayor Gilbert Wong: “Continue This Movement. Continue This Consciousness

(Reporter Richard , Cupertino)

The city of Cupertino is located at heart of Silicon Valley in the northern part of California, 50 miles to the south of San Francisco. The Apple headquarter, along with more than 60 major international companies, are all located in this area. Cupertino is also labeled as the one of the most educated cities in the US. In attempt to promote cultural understandings among people of different countries, Cupertino established formal relationships with Toyokawa City and Hsinchu City, in Japan and Taiwan respectively.

Cupertino city mayor, Gilbert Wong, who served as a mayor in 2011 and 2014, fully acknowledges and supports An Era of Conscience movement that Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy has been promoting. He emphasized the importance of being a model citizen and maintaining a peaceful world. He called on everyone to support Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy in promoting An Era of Conscience movement. In order to encourage more individuals from all walks of life and different countries to participate in the movement of Era of Conscience, Tai Ji Men Qigong San Jose Academy, together with leaders, representatives and friends from Bay area, launched the ceremony of endorsing the Declaration for An Era of Conscience at the academy’s location in Cupertino City on August 17th. This event aims to resolve geopolitical tensions and guide humanity towards sustainable development.

After the launch, Mayor Gilbert Wong Gilbert Wong said, “This movement of conscience is something that is really important for the whole community. It doesn’t matter if you’re Chinese, Taiwanese, or non-Asian; this is a diverse community here in the Silicon Valley. Look at all the anecdotes, from David, who’s a special needs person, to Edmund, who’s a student, to Teacher Lin, as well as medical profession Amy. You can see how each one of our lives have been touched by Tai Ji Men; it is my honor to work with Tai Ji Men and to work with all the members to continue this movement, to continue this consciousness, and to show how Dr. Hong promote it to over 100 countries in many different languages and cultures. So let’s celebrate our diversity; let’s celebrate our conscience; let’s celebrate promoting this to my wife, kids, and the rest of the community to bring the community together.

Mayor further mentioned: “Era of Conscience is something that is really important for the Chinese community to promote the Chinese culture. What I really like is the songs, the warmth of the feeling in the room. We should be proud of ourselves. We should be proud of our consciousness. We should be proud of who we are. And the better self confidence we have, the better citizen we will be in the world community. So I would like to thank you again Dr. Hong for bringing us all together.

On August 23rd, five days after An Era of Conscience movement declaration was launched, An Era of Conscience movement was also being promoted at the Happy Kids Day event hosted at Cupertino City’s Memorial Park. Mayor Gilbert Wong reaffirmed the importance of the movement.

On January 1 of 2014, the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL), Association of World Citizens (AWC), and Tai Ji Men Qigong Academy jointly promulgated the movement of “An Era of Conscience.” The initiator of the movement, Dr. Hong Tao-Tze said, “The dawn of the new century has come amid the turbulences of the 20th century.
