The effects of global endorsement for the movement of An Era of Conscience have entered Taiwan from the U.S. and the UN.

On Sept. 15, the International Love and Peace Day, 2014 International Forum on the Awakening of Conscience,” co-organized by 17 international organizations from 7 countries, was held at 2:00 p.m. at National Taiwan Hospital International Conference Center.  This positive force of the awakening of conscience started by civil society was the continuance of the power of conscience stirred up in the United Nations in August this year. A series of related events  have been hosted in Taiwan, India, the U.S. and Russia.

Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, president of the Federation of World Peace and Love, pointed out in his speech, “Each person who acts according to his/her conscience in his/her respective position is a hero, a superman that helps improve the world’s destiny.”  He also remarked that the right path to reform for the United Nations and all countries is to use wisdom and the idea of love and peace to find the best, fastest, and the most beneficial and correct way to assist the United Nations and all countries with their progress.

At the forum, an unveiling event for the Declaration for the Movement of An Era of Conscience was held.  The declaration indicates, “Everyone is the leader of his/her conscience.  Conscience transcends the difference between ethnicities, nationalities and religious beliefs. You and I protect the conscience in our hearts, and together we can create an era of love and peace.” The whole declaration was read in turns by the honored guests including Attorney Yiu-Chen Su, honorary director of Chinese Association for Human Rights; Professor Chih-Lung Chen, president of Taiwan Association for the Study of Finance Criminal Law; Professor Ke-Chang Ge of law at National Taiwan University; Professor Chun-Jie Huang, member of President Office Human Rights Committee; Professor Ching-Hsiu Chen of law at Soochow University; Attorney Tien-Tsai Lin, president of Legal Assistance Foundation in Taipei, Kingman, and Matzu; Mei-Chen Sheng, former Control Yuan member; Fei-Lung Lee, secretary-general of AWC (Taiwan), NGO in consultative status with ECOSOC and associated with the UN DPI; and Professor Jing-Ching Wu of law at Aletheia University.  After the declaration was read, they all endorsed it on the spot.

Honored guests at the 2014 International Forum on the Awakening of Conscience included leading experts in various circles such as human rights, politics, justice, taxation, environmental sciences, education, religion, media, etc.  They jointly lighted up a globe with a smiley face, symbolizing an angel of conscience, to illuminate the world with the light of love and peace. The honored guests, representing people in different fields, led others to endorse the movement of An Era of Conscience and shared their words of conscience to consolidate more positive influences. 

Tzu-Gang Peng, representative of Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, the initiator of the movement of An Era of Conscience, stated, “Everyone shall activate one’s conscience and start from oneself to spread the positive influence to one’s society and nation, and then the whole world will become peaceful.”

Mr. A-Ming Wu, president of Liberty Times, remarked, “Conscience starts with oneself to influence one’s family, society, nation, and the whole world.” 

Attorney Yiu-Chen Su, honorary director of Chinese Association for Human Rights, mentioned, “Good administration comes from conscience.  May all people live in peace and happiness. May every country enjoy peace and prosperity and Taiwan achieve sustainability and peace.”

Mr. Cheng-Fang Ma, former minister of transportation, said, “The awakening of conscience will save humankind, the world, and the earth.”

Dr. Bo-Ya Chang, president of the Control Yuan, remarked, “If everyone acts according to his/her conscience, the world will become beautiful, free of corruption, violations of law, and unsafe foods.  And all nations and people can enjoy peace and prosperity.” 

Mr. Chung-Mo Cheng, president of Taiwan Law and Policy Research Foundation, mentioned, “For Taiwan, may justice prevail.”

Sheng-Fen Lin, president of China Television Company, remarked, “Conscience is a key, unlocking love and peace.”

Mr. Shih-Cheng Huang, president of Taiwan Tradition Foundation, stated, “Conscience is our true nature.  Conscience will appear after an understanding of the fundamental things like human nature, innate kindness, and values.”

Father Jonah George Mourtos of the Orthodox Church in Taiwan said, “We exist because of conscience.  Conscience is love.”

Mr. Chuo-Lun Lee, representative of the Federation of World Peace and Love, indicated, “With conscience, comes love.  With love, comes peace. The awakening of conscience starts with oneself.”

UN ambassadors also shared their words of conscience via videos.  H.E. Dr. Caleb Otto, Ambassador of Palau to the UN, remarked that we need conscience even more now to enable each other, the earth, and the whole world to coexist happily and peacefully. H.E. Mr. Mamadou Tangara, Ambassador of the Gambia to the UN stated that he saw a lot of youths promoting An Era of Conscience and feels that this is a very lofty movement promoted by the organizers. M. Thierry Alia, Minister of Counsellor of the Benin Permanent Mission to the UN, said that a world free of pain, war, illness, and fear is what we desire, a dream world. He likes to see much success in the movement of An Era of Conscience promoted by FOWPAL and urges all people to work hand in hand to achieve this goal.
